Building Albuquerque’s Workforce Through JTA & AGC New Mexico

JTA continues to earn praise from local employers. With over 120 individuals trained through AGC NM alone, participating businesses are seeing tangible impacts in job creation, wage growth, and employee satisfaction.
“The feedback I’ve received has been very positive,” said Bill Everett, Regional Manager at Western Partitions, Inc. “Both of my Project Managers have completed training through AGC Edge—one took the Project Management course and the other participated in a blueprint reading class—all made possible through JTA funding.”
“Southwest Glass & Glazing has determined that all 150 employees will engage in professional development in some meaningful way in 2025,” said Michelle Lindholm, HR Manager. “JTA has been instrumental in making such a large and ambitious endeavor possible. Whether they stay with our company or move on to other opportunities, making professional development accessible and affordable to Albuquerque is good for our city.”
As Albuquerque faces a critical housing shortage, programs like JTA play a key role in Mayor Keller’s Housing Forward ABQ initiative—an emergency plan to expand access to housing by accelerating construction and conversion projects citywide. One of the core challenges in expanding Albuquerque’s housing supply is a lack of qualified workers in the construction trades. By training and upskilling local talent, JTA helps meet this demand head-on, ensuring that housing projects move forward efficiently while also creating upward mobility for local residents.
With over 100 free training options and over $59 million in additional annual earning power reported by local businesses, JTA continues to prove that when employers are equipped with the tools to grow, Albuquerque thrives—and that includes building the workforce needed to solve the city’s housing crisis.
