Breaking Bad RV Tours: Driving Albuquerque’s Film Tourism

From the moment Frank and Jackie Sandoval rolled their first RV onto Albuquerque streets in 2014, they’ve been giving visitors the ultimate insider’s look at the city’s booming film scene. What began as a friendly bet with a set dresser friend, over whether anyone would ride in a beat-up RV to visit Breaking Bad filming locations, has grown into one of Albuquerque’s most recognizable and beloved film tourism experiences.

Breaking Bad RV Tours takes fans deep into the worlds of Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and El Camino, offering a fully immersive journey to iconic locations from all three productions. Along the way, guests also discover the many other films and shows made right here in Albuquerque and across New Mexico, from The Avengers and Transformers to Dark Winds, The Cleaning Lady, and countless others. For many visitors, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to step into the storylines they love and carry those memories forever.

Frank and Jackie’s journey into the industry is as inspiring as their tours. Both left corporate careers to pursue their shared passion for film, taking acting classes and appearing in multiple productions. They quickly became a part of Albuquerque’s creative community, building strong relationships with the Albuquerque Film Office beginning in 2015. Over the years, they’ve worked closely with the Office, first with former liaison Ann Lerner, then with current liaison Cindy McCrossen, to ensure that tours respect active productions while still showcasing the city’s rich film heritage.

The business faced a major setback in late 2023 when Frank became seriously ill, forcing tours to pause. After months of hospitalization and recovery, he returned in June 2025 determined to finish what he started. The community and fans welcomed the tours back with open arms. Today, Breaking Bad RV Tours operates three RVs, including one used in El Camino with interior props featured in Better Call Saul, cementing their role not just as tour operators, but as keepers of Albuquerque’s screen history.

Film tourism is a powerful economic driver for Albuquerque and New Mexico, and Breaking Bad RV Tours plays a leading role. An estimated 60–80% of their guests travel from out of state or overseas, bringing with them tourism dollars that support hotels, restaurants, and local attractions. The Sandovals proudly partner with other small businesses, from the Breaking Bad Store in Old Town to Old Town Ghost Tours, Rainbow Ryders, and local hotels, helping visitors experience all that Albuquerque has to offer.

For over a decade, Breaking Bad RV Tours has blended fan excitement with community connection, proving that Albuquerque’s film story is best told on the streets where it was made. For booking information, visit BreakingBadRVToursABQ.com.
