The Black Chamber of Commerce of New Mexico Finds a New Home at Albuquerque’s Business Resource Center

The City of Albuquerque is proud to welcome the Black Chamber of Commerce of New Mexico (BCCNM) into its newly expanded Business Resource Center (BRC), a move that reflects the Chamber’s remarkable growth and deepening impact within Albuquerque’s business ecosystem. The relocation marks a significant milestone for BCCNM as it continues to advance its mission of strengthening Black and other underserved, under-engaged, and under-resourced businesses through education, advocacy, mentorship, and networking.

For more than six years, the Black Chamber of Commerce of New Mexico has been a driving force for sustainable economic empowerment. Its programs help entrepreneurs build skills, access markets, overcome systemic barriers, and expand their professional networks. By offering workshops, seminars, advocacy initiatives, and hands-on mentorship opportunities, the Chamber provides New Mexico businesses with the tools they need to grow and thrive.

As BCCNM’s membership and impact have expanded in recent years, so has its need for a space that supports collaboration and accessibility. Its move into the City’s Business Resource Center underscores the Chamber’s evolution and reinforces the facility’s role as a one-stop hub for small business support. The BRC is now home to both the City’s Small Business Office and the Black Chamber of Commerce of New Mexico, bringing key resources under one roof and offering entrepreneurs easier access to guidance, technical assistance, and community connections.

“We want to make sure businesses have the resources they need to thrive,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “By opening the Business Resource Center to the Black Chamber of Commerce of New Mexico, we’re putting more tools and support directly into the hands of local entrepreneurs.”

BCCNM’s leadership sees this move as a strategic step forward that aligns with the organization’s future vision.

Relocating to the Business Resource Center reflects our commitment to expand services as we collaborate and partner within our communities. Being at the BRC allows us to offer even more support, access, and opportunities to businesses across the State of New Mexico, said Black Chamber of Commerce of New Mexico President and CEO Karla Causey. “This is more than a new office; it’s the beginning of an expanded era of growth and empowerment.
